Push to go out, pull to come in. No turning, no fumbling with an armful of shopping — and unlike the rest of the smart lock range, these four are rated IP66, so they can go on an entry door that actually catches weather.
This is also the only collection with a hook bolt, which is what a sliding door needs. A straight bolt slides sideways into the jamb; on a door that runs on a track there is nothing for it to slide into. A hook bolt swings out and grips.
Long handle or short handle?
The electronics are identical across all four. Only the handle length and the finish differ.
| Long handle | Short handle | |
|---|---|---|
| Suits | Full-width timber and framed glass doors, where there is room for a proper grip | Narrow aluminium stiles and sliding doors, where a long lever would foul the frame |

Reading the mortise code
Every option carries a four-digit code, and it is a measurement rather than a style name. Read it as backset then centres: 6085 means a 60 mm backset with 85 mm between the spindle and the cylinder.
| Code | Order it when |
|---|---|
| 6085 | Your backset measures 60 mm. This is the standard on hinged timber and metal entry doors. |
| 4585 | 45 mm backset — the European fitting, on some imported and apartment doors. |
| 3585 / 2885 | 35 mm and 28 mm backsets, for narrow aluminium stiles and framed glass. |
| 3585 / 2885 hook bolt | The same narrow backsets with a hook bolt. Order this if your door slides. |
Measure the backset on the mortise you already have — from the faceplate to the centre of the square spindle hole — before you choose. The sizing guide shows it with a diagram, and every product page has a calculator that walks you through it.
These are the weather-rated locks in the range. IP66 with waterproof rubbers supplied, rated from −25°C to 70°C. If your door is sheltered you have more choice — the lever handle locks are simpler and cheaper. If it is a gate rather than a door, the IP66 gate lock has a 34 mm panel made for narrow gate uprights.
What you give up
Batteries are not included — four AA alkaline cells, worth buying with the lock. Remote unlocking needs the G2 gateway, sold separately; out of the box these are Bluetooth. And there is no Apple Home or Matter support anywhere in our range, which the FAQ explains in full.
If seeing who is at the door matters more to you than the push/pull action, look at the camera locks instead — one of them has Wi-Fi built in with no gateway to buy.
Why push/pull is easier to live with
Turning a handle is the one motion everyone does badly with their hands full. A push/pull removes it: you lean on the bar going out and pull it coming in. It sounds trivial until you are carrying shopping, a child or a toolbox, or until grip strength is not what it was.
It is the reason this style has taken over new builds, and it is genuinely better in daily use rather than just different. Our buying guide puts it alongside the other four types if you want to compare before committing.
The mortise is the part that decides everything
Unlike a lever lock, which drops into an existing bore, a mortise lock needs a rectangular pocket cut into the edge of the door at the right depth and the right backset. Get the code right and it drops in; get it wrong and no amount of adjusting will save it, because the pocket itself is the wrong shape.
That is why we publish six codes rather than one, and why the calculator on each product page asks for your measurement before it recommends anything. Measure the mortise you already have, not the door.
Built for weather, which most locks are not
All four models carry IP66 with waterproof rubbers in the box, and a published operating range from −25°C to 70°C. That covers a cold morning and a hot afternoon at either end of the countries we ship to.
Five of our nine locks have no published weather rating at all. If your entry is open to the sky, this collection and the gate lock are the only two places to look.
